The exhibition Burgundian Dining: At the Table in the Low Countries opens at Museum Hof van Busleyden in Mechelen on 31 October 2026, with exhibition design by Aslı Çiçek. Following the exhibition Eternal Spring in 2024, this marks a new collaboration between the museum and Çiçek's studio.

The exhibition explores the food and dining culture of the Low Countries in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, when Mechelen was an important political and cultural centre of the Burgundian Netherlands. Structured as a meal in four courses, it moves from lavish court banquets and their elaborate kitchens to bustling markets and everyday food culture. Through historical artworks, archaeological objects and contemporary interventions, the exhibition questions our inherited image of Burgundian abundance, revealing the social hierarchies and contrasts between luxury and scarcity behind the dining table.

Curated by Hannah Iterbeke, the exhibition runs from 31 October 2026 to 11 April 2027 at Museum Hof van Busleyden, Mechelen.
